Effective January 1st, 2016, all Health options will include a combined overall paramedical maximum of $2,500 per certificate (per family), per year.

Last year, the Plan paid $26.7 million in paramedical services, with the approximately 112,000 certificate holders with Health coverage using the services to varying degrees. Of these 112,000 certificate holders, roughly 800 accounted for $2.7 million or 10.2% of total claim costs. This includes some certificate holders claiming upwards of $10,000. The Plan options were not designed or priced for this degree of utilization. Adding an annual combined overall maximum will allow for ALL services to continue to be offered on an ongoing basis, while giving the Plan and individuals some cost certainty.
